A collective of independents · Production & distribution

Made to be seen.
Not just made.

Collective Efficiency covers the full scope of a communications agency: from writing the film to getting it seen. Six independents, each an expert at their post, and no investors to pay: what you spend goes into the work.

Lyon, Paris and wherever your projects take us. Six experts free to craft work that lives up to your ambitions, and then some.

Why we exist

What happens to your film after delivery?

A flawless piece of work. Weeks of it.

Release day comes.

A handful of views.

The company. A few friends. No one else.

Never a quality problem: a chain problem. We built Collective Efficiency so that yours never breaks.

The collective

A collective, not an agency.

Independent specialists, each sharper for being independent, and complementary when your project calls for it. Two, three or six skills: you assemble what you need, never more. Six people looking at one project isn’t a production line: it’s what makes the work hold up long after it ships.

Directing & camera

Axel Milon

A DV camera in his hands at ten. The camera isn’t a career he picked: it’s the one he never left.

He was on staff at stane, alongside Zélie, before going independent. And stane kept calling. He has since filmed from Lyon to Luxembourg and as far as Norway.

On your projects he holds the camera and the thread: location, light, framing, and the single point of contact, from the first conversation to distribution. He is the one who brings in the right people from the collective, at the right moment.

Editing

Noé Cabaud

The hands you never see: she is the one holding the rhythm, the silences, the way the film breathes.

A fast, precise editor, she cuts quickly, and cuts right. The sensitivity to hear what a shot is saying, the nerve to remove whatever holds it back.

She doesn’t wait to be told where to look: she comes to you with ideas. An artist’s touch you can recognise, put to work on your film.

Motion design, 2D/3D & VFX

Raphaël Erba

A world of his own, instantly recognisable, and the craft to bend it to yours without losing what makes motion feel human, drawn, made by hand.

Trained far beyond motion: 3D, video games, animation in all its forms. That range is what shows on screen.

More than 300,000 people follow his world online: proof that a voice of one’s own finds its audience.

Digital marketing & distribution

Fansoumana Touré

Digital marketing, practised in-house in Paris before he brought it back to Lyon, his home city.

An ambitious, tenacious freelancer, he won’t let go until he has secured two things: your results, and your satisfaction.

Formats, channels, the right moment: he is the one who sets up the meeting between your content and its audience, and turns a view into an enquiry.

Profile
Graphic design

Espérance Baux

From Montpellier to Paris by way of Toulouse, and by way of fine art school. A path you can see in the line.

Her palette surprises first, then wins you over: unexpected and right, both at once.

In a graphic landscape where everything ends up looking alike, she brings the one thing that can’t be copied: the freshness of a real artist, put to work on what sets you apart.

Social media & community

Zélie Deshayes

Social media management is a young craft. Zélie has done it in-house, and everywhere she has been, they wanted to keep her.

It was at stane that she and Axel worked closely, each in their own role. They knew each other well before they chose each other.

Her work starts where most stop: after publication. The right move at the right moment, day after day: that is what keeps a piece of content alive, and often what makes it convert in the very first hours.

Profile

Collective: six independents, one mindset. We know each other, we choose each other, and nobody passes the buck: the project runs on a single thread, from the first conversation to distribution.

Efficiency: efficiency is not the same as effectiveness. Effectiveness gets you the result; efficiency is the ratio between the result you get and the resources you commit. Everyone here is an expert at their post: that ratio is what we hold ourselves to.

One point of contact

One voice, from the first conversation to distribution: your project lead. They know the project inside out, and bring in the right specialist at the right moment.

Specialists chosen for you

Every member is chosen for your project, never by default, and joins at the point where the project needs them.

Nothing gets lost on the way

Nothing gets lost changing hands: one chain, from brief to distribution, and the standard travels with it.

Why does a collective cost less than an agency?

Because nobody is paid on top of the work: no shareholders, no organisation to keep running. Six independents paid for the post they hold on your project: for the same scope an agency covers.

Specialists, free. Complementary together.

The rigour of an agency. The sensibility and the standards of a craftsman.

Already know who you need? It’s à la carte: two, three or six skills, never more than the project needs.

Your project

Four stages, one chain, and you at the centre.

At each stage the right skills take over: without you having to repeat yourself. You sign off every milestone with your project lead. Nothing here is rushed: what we build has to keep working well beyond the day it goes live.

  1. Listening & framing

We start from your reality: your goals, your audiences, your message. Together we define what the content has to achieve, and how long it has to keep achieving it: before we talk about cameras.

    With you: your project lead
Pre-production: notes taken by hand, before any talk of cameras
  2. Design & production

Writing, art direction, visual identity, filming. Everything is decided here, and every choice is agreed with you. Sometimes the finished project outgrows the first idea: we put it to you, and you decide.

  3. Post-production

Editing, motion design, graphics, grading. The people shaping it here watched it being born: nothing to explain again, nothing lost in translation.

  4. Distribution & results

Distribution strategy, formats for each channel, tracking what happens: prepared during creation, not after. What we learn by distributing feeds what we shoot next. Delivery is not the end of the work: we stay with you so the content actually reaches its audience.

One film can be enough. A direction takes you further.

The one-off project has its place, and we stand by it: one need, one team, one delivery. That’s à la carte: you take exactly what you need. But over three months, six months or a year, we set a direction together, production keeps going, and we adjust as we go: what works gets amplified, what doesn’t gets stopped; the pace stays yours, revisited at every step. That’s the set menu. Sign for a year and our only goal is that you sign again at the end, which only comes with results. The framework is built with you, and quoted for you.

It starts by pinning down what you actually need, and that commits you to nothing.

Your questions

What people ask us before we start.

What kind of projects is the collective for?

A brand film, a run of content, an identity, a distribution plan to build: the moment a project needs more than one craft, it’s for us. And if it only needs one, we’ll tell you.

How does a project start?

You write to us, the project lead replies within one working day, and a first, no-commitment conversation scopes out the need. The quote comes after, built around what you want to achieve.

Do we have to take all six skills?

No. It’s à la carte: each project draws on the skills it calls for, never more. The full chain is there when the project needs it, and every link knows the others’ work. And if you’d rather be guided, there’s the longer-term arrangement, the chef’s menu: something thought through end to end, which often goes further than what you’d have ordered dish by dish.

When should we start thinking about distribution?

During creation, not after. What we learn by distributing informs what we shoot next: each action prepares the next one. And a good film released too late, or badly, runs out of steam. That’s why distribution is a stage of the journey, not an add-on.

Where do you work?

The collective is based in Lyon and Paris, and travels anywhere in France. Abroad too when a project calls for it: Axel Milon, our project lead, has filmed in Luxembourg and Norway.

Why a collective rather than an agency?

Because you are choosing people, not an organisation. Each of us is independent and picked for your project in particular; between you and the specialist, there is only the project lead.

Is a collective more expensive than an agency?

Usually the opposite: each of us bills for the role we hold, and nothing is added on top.

How many videos should we plan for the year?

As many as your business actually calls for, not as many as a content calendar demands. We’d rather start from what you have to say: it usually comes to fewer pieces than planned, and they last a good deal longer.

What does a longer-term arrangement look like?

A direction set at the start, then production that keeps going: shoots, edits, adaptations, distribution; as much as your business actually calls for. We amplify what works, stop what doesn’t, and the pace gets revisited as we go: never an imposed schedule, never a promised volume. The framework is built with you, and quoted for you.

Why that name?

Because it names the two things that define us. Collective: six independents, one mindset; we know each other, we choose each other, and nobody passes the buck. Efficiency: efficiency is not effectiveness. Effectiveness gets you the result; efficiency is the ratio between the result you get and the resources you commit. That ratio is what we ask to be judged on.

Do you follow trends?

We watch them; we don’t chase them. Making content for content’s sake, or to look like everyone else, would drain everyone’s energy: yours included. We do what we do best, for your project, and it shows in the result.

Don’t see your question?

Choose one of us, and you get all of us.

One point of contact, and behind them, the whole chain, if you need it.

Communication thought through as one piece: so your next piece reaches the people it was meant for, and holds them.
